This project involved the complete rebuild of a Baker Hughes PDC bit with severe matrix body erosion and missing cutters. PT. Wanatirta Nusantara applied its advanced hardsurfacing capability to restore the bit.

- Full tear-down and pre-repair inspection with photography
- Matrix body repair using Composite Rod method
- TSP Insert application on gage pads
- Hard Surfacing using Technorope on blank bit body
- Cutter assembly and brazing
- Final OD grind and quality inspection
Technical Notes
The Composite Rod method was selected for this project due to the extent of matrix erosion. This approach provides superior bond strength and wear resistance compared to conventional welding methods.
